QURAN-E-HAKIM.COM CONDEMNS THE MURDER OF OUR MUSLIM BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN GAZA AND THe WEST BANK
Quran-e-hakim.com condemns the murder of
our Palestinian Muslim brothers and sisters in Gaza and the West Bank and
reminds the Israelis of the warnings from the Prophet Muhammad (sall-Allahu
alayhi wa-sallam - may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) forbidding
the killing of women and children in war.
There are various authentic reports from
Rasoolullah (sall-Allahu alayhi wa-sallam - may the blessings and peace of
Allah be upon him) in which he explicitly forbade the killing of women and
children and indeed the killing of all civilians is forbidden in Islam.
The following authentic hadith from Jami’
At-Tirmidhi is well known:
“Ibn ‘Umar narrated that a woman was
found killed in one of the expeditions of the Messenger of Allah (sall-Allahu
alayhi wa-sallam - may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), so the
Messenger of Allah (sall-Allahu alayhi wa-sallam - may the blessings and peace
of Allah be upon him) rebuked that and he prohibited killing women and children.
are narrations on this topic from Buraidah and Rabah - and they say he was
Riyah - bin Ar-Rabi', Al-Aswad bin Sari', Ibn 'Abbas, and As-Sa'b bin
“[Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan
Sahih. This is acted upon according to some of the people of knowledge among
the Companions of the Prophet and
others. They disliked killing women and children. This is the view of Sufyan
Ath-Thawri and Ash-Shafi'i.
“Some of the people of knowledge made an
exception for killing the women who had children with them during night
attacks, this is the view of Ahmad and Ishaq, they permitted it in night
The reference for the above Hadith is
Jami’ At-Tirmidhi, Volume 3, Hadith 1569 Pages 341-342 of the English
translation published by Darussalam [First edition: November 2007].
It should be explained that the
final paragraph of the Hadith should be understood to mean that if women or
children were unintentionally killed in night fighting because of the confusion
that could arise under such circumstances then it couldn’t be helped.
It should not be understood to mean
that it was permissible to intentionally kill women and children at night.
There are Ahadith which clarify the
rules concerning night fighting, but Insha'-Allah I will have to look them up.
Israel, have you so quickly forgotten the
lessons of the past? Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala - Glory be to Him, the
Most High) hasn't. He forgets nothing!
You had better hope He turns to you with
forgiveness and mercy, because if He doesn't then Insha'-Allah you run the risk
of learning those horrifying lessons all over again.
Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala - Glory be to
Him, the Most High) hates those who walk upon the earth with arrogance and
pride. No-one is safe from Him and if He turns upon someone with hatred and
rage there is no escape.
You spurn Allah's beloved Rasoolullah
(sall-Allahu alayhi wa-sallam - may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon
him), sneer at the Qur'an, the word of God, and make a mockery of the teachings
of Islam. Do you really believe you are safe from Him?
If you do, then reflect upon the fate of a man
who took another of Allah's beloved Prophets and Messengers (alayhim
as-salam - may the peace of Allah be upon them) for sport and then paid a
terrible price for doing so.
The following quotes are from the English
translation of the Tafsir of Ibn Kathir published by Darussalam - Surah
Al-Anbiya, ayat 68-70. Aside from changes to the punctuation and paragraphing
the quotes are verbatim.
“68. They said: ‘Burn him and help your gods, if you will be doing.’
“69. We said: ‘O fire! Be you cool and safety for Ibrahim!’
“70. And they wanted to harm him, but We made them the worst
“How Ibrahim was thrown into the Fire and how Allah controlled it
“When their arguments were refuted and their incapability became clear,
when truth was made manifest and falsehood was defeated, they resorted to using
their power and strength, and said: ‘Burn him and help your gods, if you will be doing’.
“So, they gathered together a huge
amount of wood. As-Suddi said: ‘I if a woman was sick, she would make a vow
that if she recovered she would bring wood to burn Ibrahim. Then they made a
hole in the ground and set it aflame, and it burned with huge sparks and
immense flames. There had never been a fire like it.
“They put Ibrahim, peace be upon
him, into a catapult, at the suggestion of a nomadic Kurdish man from Persia.
Shu`ayb Al-Jaba'i said: ‘His name was Hayzan, and Allah caused the earth to
swallow him up, and he will remain sinking into it until the Day of
Resurrection. When they threw him he said: ‘Sufficient for me is Allah, and He
is the best disposer of affairs’. This is similar to what Al-Bukhari recorded
from Ibn `Abbas that Ibrahim said: ‘Sufficient for me is Allah, and He is the
best disposer of affairs,’ when he was thrown into the fire, and Muhammad said
it when they said:
“Verily, the people have gathered
against you, therefore, fear them. But it increased them in faith, and they
said: ‘Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs’. (3:173)”
Oh Israel, heed the warning of how Allah
caused the earth to swallow up Hayzan and “he will remain sinking into it until
the Day of Resurrection if it pleases Allah”. I do not doubt that he is still
Israel, if it pleases Allah (Subhanahu
wa ta’ala - Glory be to Him, the Most High) the day will come when you will
fall and when that happens there will be great rejoicing – much joy.
What ignominy! A once great nation –
long ago held high in the eyes of God – now utterly abased.
